Recipe: healthy chocolate bars with pistachios

As you very well know of us, we LOVE ourselves a snack every once in a while and if we can have a healthier version we’ll always go for it. As we know you love healthy, tasty snacks as much as we do, we would like to share this amazing recipe by Zonderzooi with you. (For 4 candy bars)

  • 150 gr hazelnuts
  • 200 gram dates
  • 4 tbs cocoa powder
  • 80 gr dark chocolate
  • 20 gr pistachios (weight is without peel)


  • Kitchen machine
  • Large and small pan
  • Cake tin


  1. Put the hazelnuts in the kitchen machine and grind shortly. Add the dates and the cocoa and mix to a smooth mixture
  2. Fill the cake tin with baking paper and smoothen the edges. Fill the tin halfway with the mixture and press it with your fingers to the bottom of the tin (not too hard, just until smooth).
  3. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove the peels of the pistachios and chop them with a sharp knife.
  5. Melt the chocolate au bain marie. Take the mixture out of the cake tin and cut it in 4 bars. Cover all bars in chocolate and smoothen it with a spatula.
  6. Garnish the bars with pistachios and chill in the fridge for 20 more minutes.
